18th century spanish soldier?

were there ever 18th century spanish soldiers or portuguese soldiers who had a light beard as a style. ive seen in movies and in images where spanish soldiers had a light beard also some reenactors haveing the same style not that it was really popular but were their some . i know clean shaven was the fashion just curious
