I got the police called on me for?

calling this person. it was not a prank call. i was just calling it bc the persons number is exactly like mine except for 1 digit and these ppl always call and text me mistaking me for her. my friend called her and apparently woke her up and my friend asked why she was asleep at 11 . the lady was bein rude and said "bc i worked 13 f****** hours" and my friend goes well everyone has to work for a living. so the lady called us back and said shes calling the cops and i apologized for my friends rudeness. the cops later call me and say they are going to record my calls. how is that possible seein it was only 1 call made to that number and there wasnt anything bad said. and what do they mean by tracking/ recording my phone? and if so what shld i avoid talkin about to not get in trouble
