I have a question about a degree in Zoology, please read! Trying to figure this out.?

Okay so I love animals, and I have always been trying to figure out ways to help animals in need. My current major is zoology. But i'm having mix feelings about this degree. So I live in California, If I get a degree in zoology, can i really get a job in CA in a zoology related career? And another question, I've been doing a lot of research and I have read that zoologist travel a lot. What I am afraid of is that If I get a degree in zoology I am gonna have to be traveling to be able to actually find a job. Is traveling a have to in a zoology field?
